Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal has gained a lot of attention before its release. It’s an action-packed movie that is expected to perform well at the box office. However, we should not underestimate the potential of Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur, which could surprise us with its success.
Sam Bahadur, a biographical war drama, has received a decent response in terms of advance bookings. The film’s powerful content suggests that it will likely attract more viewers as time goes on.
When asked about the impact of Animal on Sam Bahadur at the box office, film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi stated, “I believe that these two films won’t significantly affect each other because they target different audiences. Animal is a mass entertainer, while Sam Bahadur is a more sophisticated, multiplex film. They can coexist and cater to distinct groups of people.”
Considering the opening day figures, Rathi added, “Sam Bahadur may not have the same wide release or intrinsic value as Animal, but I believe it can make around Rs 4-5 crore on the first day, at least. If the reviews are positive, evening shows will attract more viewers, resulting in a respectable and encouraging performance. Unlike Animal, Sam Bahadur is a film that can grow based on word-of-mouth.”
On the other hand, trade expert Ramesh Bala predicted, “Pan India, I expect Sam Bahadur to collect around Rs 5 to 7 crores on the first day.”
Regarding the competition between Animal and Sam Bahadur, he commented, “Both films will perform well according to their respective ranges. For example, Gadar 2 performed exceptionally well, earning around Rs 40–50 crore per day, while OMG 2 didn’t do as well. Depending on the marketing, release screens, and audience buzz, both movies should have a decent performance. They should surpass their budgets in terms of box office earnings. Animal is likely to be in the higher range, while Sam Bahadur will be in the lower range.”
These big movies will hit screens on December 1st.
